Hey i just brought a manual ed falcon and i took it for a drive but when i went to reverse it went into gear the made a massive bang and poped out but i have every other gear so i tried holding it in but it jus bangs itself out? Dose this mean the manual is fubard or is it another problem? Clutch is only 2 months old (exedy heavy duty)

Can be a case of weak detent springs...or the reverse selector fork is very worn, and isn't fully engaging reverse.......I had the latter happen to me.

A Detent spring isn't for holding up De Tent......it's for holding the selector fork inplace, the correct place for it to be.....every gear has one......in the case of the T5, it is in the shifter mechanism.
Here is a pic of inside the gearbox.....the gear with the straight cut teeth, is Reverse.

The Detent arrangement lives under the selector rail in this pic, and there is a Detent plate on the bottom of rear extension housing.
