When you say 'immobolise state' Steven, do you mean he turns the key, it doesn't crank, but instead a red hand with a key in it (I think that's it) flashes in the instrument cluster?
Does it happen while he is driving or when he is attempting to start his AU? Has he tried the spare key? Ian |

If it's completely immobilised you will need to take it to an auto electrician or Ford (take your spare keys as well) for a parameter reset between the keys, ECU, BEM etc. There is no other way around Smartshield unfortunately. I recently had it done for just under $200.

Forgot to add, they can also pull codes in an attempt to see what the issue is/was.
