Lads.
I have an AUII and getting an annoying whop whop whop noise over 60km/h in the front RHS. Naturally it gets faster with speed. I'ver replaced the rotor, tie rod end and sway bar links ... Would you believe the noise is still there. It seems as if it's the rotor hitting the caliper, but there is no feedback into the steering or the brakes, just the stupid constant noise. (Even while under brakes). Anyone have any ideas on what it could be and how it could be fixed?
Cheers. :?: :!: :?:

What you don't have a 36mm? also they need to be done up to 305nm, I s**t you not.

Yep easy job to do.
Invest in the correct torque wrench for the job. 305NM is f**k tight! Much tighter then I thought they would have to be by feel.

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around!

Thanks Lads.

I did a rotation @ lunchtime yesterday just to make sure it wasn't an out of balance wheel, or that the wheel weight wasn't rubbing against anything & that didn't fix it.
I did have an feeling that it would be the bearings, I've done wheel bearings in falcons before, so I know what I'm up against with that job. I must say, it looks easier than the last one I did, which was an ED. ( I just hate the grease factor )
But ...
I did NOT know they were THAT tight! That is UBER tight! No wonder they didn't move around much while I was swinging off the wheel to see what was moving around under there.

Lucky me, I work for a car (Holden Citroen & Hyundai ...pfffffft) & truck (Mack, Volvo, UD & Isuzu) dealership and my sheds are right next door to the truck workshop, an appropriate sized torque wrench shouldn't be a problem! :)

Plus i can get parts @ trade prices (as long as I'm wearing my work uniform)

sure do now for my rattle gun... 305nm right... time to up the pressure on the air reg!

wheel bearings on au up is PISS Easy no grease at all they are a full hub

so remove wheel,
pop the centre cap off the hub

remove the caliper and hanger, 2 bolts
remove the big f**k off nut
hub comes off

and do the reverser to install

so in total u only need to touch on the car 6 nuts and 2 bolts to change a hub
