Hi, I think Ive read all the posts and it sounds like i bave the common no start problem of a dodgy bcm/smartlock. I found info on the starter wiring colour code, relay location on the circuit board and some smartlock programing all here.
Be buffered if I could find the bcm in the car,or i didn't know what I was looking at. Appreciate any guidance on where the bcm hides in an ef station wagon, it's a poverty pack model |

it's up under the dash, above your left knee when you are sitting in the driver's seat, where the handbrake lever used to be in earlier model Falcons if you are familar with that.

Were gab1 said in front of your left knee if you look just under the bottom edge of your dash at that position you will see a screw undo it & you can pull the bcm down ,the wires will be sadled but just un tape them or pull & they will release ,ps check you interior light fuse as that is were it gets power ,one other thing you must use same colour bcm from same model & luxury level ,el no good in ef

A case of I didnt know what I was lookin at. I thought this must have been the ecu. When I then dropped the wiring above the accelerator and saw airbag on the green box, I bailed and came here for wisdom.
Thanks all. I just scored an ecu and bcm off ebay FOR $30, not sure if bcm is same yet. I'll try anD get it running as is or with the starter bypassed and then substitute in the ebay bits to make sure i have working spares. |
