So on Friday morning I finally got around to installing the gauges that some people may remember I was having difficullty with from FordMods.com Version 1.
Anyways, the Oil Pressure Gauge measures it in LBS/in2 (I think, actually I'll check in a minute). And it goes from 0 to 100. Now after driving around for the last 2 days with it, I've noticed that it can be anwhere between 35 to 45 - depending on if the engine started cold, driving on the high way, etc.... Now my question is, at which points do I start to worry that there the oil pressure is too low, or too high? And where is the ideal pressure? |

Just checked and mine is measured in 'Lbs/in2' for the aftermarket gauge.
I went and started Mom's EBII Fairmont, it was still warm, her factory gauge goes from 0 to 7, and when I started the car it was reading 3. O, there both 4.0L I6's. |

wtf That's right. The Sensor sends the oil pressure to the aftermarket gauge, while the original switch on the other side of the T-Peice adapter sends a signal to the original dash to turn a light on if there is a problem with the oil pressure. I kept the original ssytem or dummy light in incase the aftermarket one is inacurate or something... It's always good to have warning if somethings going wrong - although they do say that by the time the light is on your engines already stuffed... |

Your mums guage is in Kpa and your guage in in Psi. There is around
6.89 Kpa to 1 Psi. My book say's that an EF should a minimum oil pressure of 280 Kpa at 2000 RPM with hot oil.

Yeah sounds about right TWR. You'll see it go much higher than that and much lower as well.
