Hi All
I have a 1988 F150. 351 with a 3 speed auto column shift.
The link between the steering column and gear lever is very worn, currently has a nail holding them together. Will a XD,XE or EF unit fit .
Also I would like to fit a cruise control to the car, again will a unit from XD,XE or a XF fit.
I think the cruise control is attached to the steering wheel.

i have seen an xe column already fitted to a 1984 f100 but you could drill out the column to shifter holes and fit new roll pin

Yes I had thought of drilling it but the problem is the the part on the actual column is die cast and the gear lever is steel, But its worth a try.
When the car is in park the needle is all the way out the side of the indicator. Same when its in Reverse needle dose not line up with the R on guage thing, how can this be adjusted ?? Or is it the sloppy linkage that is the problem??

Was the whole XE steering column fitted or just the part that the gear lever is attached too.??

Or is it the sloppy linkage that is the problem?? Reversing lights do not function, I think its all part of the same problem.
