Exactly, K and N panels are rediculously expensive, its daylight robbery. Especially when the pod inside my box is a K and N, and it was half the price of a panel, WTF.[/quote] Ridiculously expesive? me thinks not! $69 delivered from Ebay! (new) pod adaptor and quality filter $127 delivered! but hey once you block off the donut thing the induction roar is pretty cool! this was for a 5lt V8.

$200K - i wish even 50-60K would be nice! but if you spend $30 a year after two years your in front with the K&N filter and it did make a difference, the pod setup was $127 delivered thats even more expensive than the K&N! the freakin 4" pod filter was $60 and the adaptor $55, so it aint any cheaper if you want quality.

Hi guys.
Just managed to score a EF box for my EB2, is it easier to modify EF Air box to change flow from bottom to top (Air from Lower Hole to Exit at Top Rear) as it is currently, So that it becomes Top to bottom air flow. EG. Mold the XH snorkel i have currently to the top of the EF Lid, Seal the Back opening and direct flow back to lower hole and into intake. OR should i run a longer bendy pipe from back of box to intake and keep the flow in/out of box standard. Has any one got photos of a EF to EB Airbox non-BBM???? am i making any sense??

Unless you are changing to the BBM manifold, it is only going backwards fitting an EF air box.
The intake pipe will be FAR to long and twisty. If you intend to keep the log manifold, the best option is to use an XH intake snorkle and an EA pipe from the lower box to the throttle body. BenJ

Cold air in denser meaning better combustion. To avoid the pod sucking up hot air (which will be degrading the performance) keep it in the box, this will also keep the cops happy.
If you want performance, go with k&n's ''apollo" filter, the shroud blocks cold air and will keep the police happy as it is a closed intake system. The apollo comes with a high flow flexi pipe if you want to locate it low in the front bar. But remember that the more bends in the pipe, the hotter the air will get before reaching the engine. Offset this by using larger diameter piping (3 inch alloy) is the best but also remove all of the factory intake piping too. It is very convenient that the MAF sensor is on the intake manifold and not in the intake piping. |

Id also like to see where the MAF on a V8 is on the inlet manifold.
Whats with all the thread mining lately?
