XP utes didn't come with disc brakes standard - only drums. The ute/van drums are the same size as the XR - XA models fitted with the drums.
If you can get hold of a set of XP Fairmont disc brake spindles, put a set of XR-XT disc rotors on it - there's your disc brake 5 stud conversion. Trouble is they are hard to find & usually bring good dollars + XR-XT discs are solid - not ventilated.. Have you had a talk to an engineer to see what he wants to pass it ? To put a 250 or a V8 in NSW, they usually want a collapseable steering column, dual circuit brakes, vented discs, 5 position seat belts, 2 speed heater/demister etc... |

Better off getting a whole kit....front and rear....Hoppers Stoppers, and fit a 9" diff thats to suit the XL.
It costs a bit though, but you will have the engineering numbers/tickets of compliance then. A mate of mine has had heaps of trouble trying to do it on the cheap, and has cost him more in the long run, not to mention the lost time ( like a year or more)....this was with a 65 Mustang, with a 200 six.
