Once again i would like to thank all that post on this site, yaz rock!!!
I have a question about replacing an el xr6 auto motor flywheel. (I was going to do this last time i changed gearbox but oil came running out when i undid it???) So my question is..is there a seal that you have to replace once removed flywheel (4 speed auto) or can you just replace the flywheel without buying seal?? If you not hurting yourself your doing something wrong!!! |

i think he means when he undid the flywheel bolts from the crank oil came out??
if so thats normal as some of the e series cranks have the flywheel bolt holes go all the way through and engine oil can come out... |

Okay im guessing that the bolts seal themselves (motor oil)when tightened if so thank god ;] Thought it may have something to do with the rear main seal as i have never seen ouil drain out when replacing a flywheel. New Bolts? Cheers aye...

no need to replace the rear seal, best thing is to use a mild thread lock, this will stop the bolts from coming loose and will stop oil seeping through the threads....
and yes you can re use the bolts, just make sure the threads are clean before fitting them |
