Decided its time to put a build thread up of my daily EBII XR6, Bought it 31/5/2012

1993 EBII S "XR6"
169xxx kms
All standard XR6 features
19" Agents
2 1/2" Exhaust
SSL Pedders springs

After purchasing it i drove 20 minutes then the power steering rack decided to fill the boots up with fluid and explode, so i had to get the reliable holden to tow it to safety
Image
I like the wheels but i just dont think they suit the color of the car.. suggestions?

there's definitely hotter wheels out there that would look better than those, but they look tuff and i personally think they look nice on the car, bit of a sleeper look, chuck some xr lights and grill and boss bulge, 8-) 8-) ..... phat.

what are the plans for it?

Not sure on plans, im a bit of a power junkie put i usally get my self in trouble, so probably just head work+manual and keep it simple, au motor, xr lights and possibly change xr spoiler to a svo 1.

Very nice, my engine was once that clean.

Is that a little bit of sill rust under the drivers door?

Yea mate one of the previous owners tried to fix it but its come back, quite a bit of rust there but only a little bit shows, about a 50c piece hole, thats next on the to do list on tidying it up

Also starter motor finally s**t its self, so hopefully replace it tommorrow morning

EA intake pipe + XH Snorkel really makes them fly. Converting to 5 speed was the best thing that I have done to it. I got sick of dropping out of gear and waiting for it to wind up in first.

I had a ef fairmont with a tickford 6, 5 speed conversion and 3.45s, so much quicker than this, not sure if timings out but it just doesnt have the balls id expect for what it is,

Another note since i got it the oil gauge seems to be sitting on almost nothing, then going above the first line when i give it stick, Is my gauge shagged or have i lost my oil pressure? The PVC valve might be the problem?

Bought new tyres and chrome dress trims for it today, looks so much cleaner now, will put picks up in the daylight tommorrow. Also got a EF console lid, EF gear knob and a EBII fairmont trip computer :)

I reckon it would be the sender. Same thing happened to me.

Hey all,

The other day I finally got around to sourcing and replacing my oil pressure sender. I sure am glad of it, as oil pressure is kind of important. It was a bit worrying sitting at the lights with the gauge sitting about 1mm above the low pressure redline! Anyway, I now get about 250kPa at idle at normal operating temperature.

So now I have all 6 gauges functioning correctly!

For all y'all interested, the correct sender for the oil pressure gauge (not switch) is VDO part number: 360.013. This suits XF-ED falcons. It is available at repco and burson's.

Thanks, Evan.
