I got the BBM into my XH today, it starts and runs ok so far. Hangs on the idle for 10 secs or so but then it's fine. I think it's caused by the vac harness not being properly hooked up. I ended up with different bits and can't see how the vacuum hoses go together.
I have all the manifold ones done, its just where the harness from the vacuum tree on the BBM joins the harness from the BBM solenoid. I took a picture and hopefully someone can help tell me where the hoses go. I can take more pictures if needed, thanks in advance. |

The one at far right goes through fire wall... Also the black line you have said goes through firewall may actually be for the vacuum purge of the charcoal canister in the front left wheel arch? Or maybe I have the two back to front!
Uhm, sorry to confuse you, I could be reading this wrong.... How about a photo with labels of the ones you are confused about only?! |

Now that I look at it the first photo was a bit confusing.
I've got the canister purge line on, it connects to the manifold under the throttle body (unless I have it wrong). I also have the PCV line, the brake booster line and the rocker cover breather connected Both black and green hoses come through the firewall, just not sure where they connect to. |

troyman - does that mean that the black hose connects to the one with the red arrows?
I'll have a look outside now and see how it fits. |

yes, the black one will go to one of the lines from the vacuum tree..

Got the green and black hoses hooked up and the only one I am left with is the one with the blue arrow from the BBM solenoid. When the engine is running it is sucking air in. I don't have any other hoses so I don't know where it goes.
Also, the idle is hanging at about 1500rpm after I put some throttle on, then after about 10 seconds it drops back to normal. If I disconnect the ISC it stops hanging. What causes this? |

What causes this? do you have anything connected to the bbm diaphragm at the front of the bbm.. the idle hang will be from the vacuum leak from that hose thats not connected.. |

The BBM actuator thing is connected to the solenoid. It is number 4 hose with the red and green arrows in my first picture. But it may be connected incorrectly.
The harness rubber thing had one hole where there was nothing on the engine side, but a line from the BBM solenoid on the other side, so I figured this was where the BBM actuator line went. |

I've checked with the other threads on BBM installs and I think the last hose was an extra. It came off the BBM solenoid line with the one-way valve on it and I don't think it's needed, so I took it off.
I'm playing around with different springs for the throttle return to get the feel I want in the pedal, but there is still.the hanging idle. It falls slowly back to 1200rpm or so, hold it for 5 seconds, then back to 700-800. It doesn't do it with the ISC disconnected. I'll check for vac leaks but if anyone's got another idea it would be great. |

Uhm, sorry if you've mentioned it but my eyes are blurry and can't be bothered re-reading. You have definitely got the one that comes through firewall from the heater controls that runs the water tap....?
