How much do you reckon it'd cost to fit up a LPG system to a EB fairmont with a manual I6 from an AU.

Its a car I'm keen on getting but only thing preventing me is fuel economy.

Some specs include the car has a AU3 block, EF xr6 head, wade cams and full exhaust. ALso a T5 manual with 3.45 diff.

I'm aware their will be a performance drop but I reckon the car would already be pretty good so I dont mind the drop.

I'm aware of EBay lpg kits and what not as well so I want a chime in from experienced people or people who could potentially install it for me.

Between $2500 and $4500 depending on who fits what.

Emer claim their Vapour injection software will run a group fired engine.
There would be no drop in power on petrol and marginal drop in power at high RPM on LPG.

Well, it depends really.

I got my EB Ghia Wagon for $400 with LPG IMPCO gear already fitted.

Later, I added an LPG Vapour injection kit off ebay for $575 which replaces all the gear in the engine bay and uses the existing fixed line and tank.

I installed it myself.

My EL engine in the Wagon runs intake mods, Wade 1673 cam, extractors and 2.5" exhaust.

So yes, you can do it on the cheap side, and still get the benefits of performance with economy.

Don't forget though, a standard engine will always have better fuel economy compared to the same engine with performance mods.

Build details are in my sig.

Cheers
BenJ

If you can find a friendly LPG guy, they may let you do the tank install yourself, but they will insist on running the LPG supply line, and charge you appropriately for that.

Good luck.
