Hi Guys Yesterday i took my timing case off to replace the chain and broken tension damper, i did not set engine at tdc before i started work wheni turned crank the chain skipped so i guess cam timing way out, i didnt pay att to where markers were before im worried im going to bend valves?,, How can i set cam timing again? engine only has a little over 10,000 so why the damper broke is beyond me..

i think you now gonna have to set cyl.1 to TDC and set the timing again.
there should be some marks or dots to line up.
cue somone that has even owned a injected 6.. :wink: :lol: :lol:

I'd remove the rocker gear and cam, set the engine to btdc then put the cam and gear back in.

Incase-
The mark on the crank And the mark on the oil pump point at each other and the camshaft gear mark sits very close to level with the top of the head on the left side. +-3 degrees.
