Hey guys abou 1 month ago I dropped my dash and when everything was back together as I was diving during a turn the steering get stuck and you would have to manually straighten it up I though it was the clock spring do I replaced that and it was exactly the same. About 1 week later it just disappeared and went bak to normal. 2 nights ago I dropped the dash put everything bak together and now I have the same problem. Does any one have any idea what this is.?

It's the bearing at the bottom of the steering column....where the floor plate is.

I don't know if they can be disassembled ( EF,EL ) steering columns, the EA to ED can't be, but I have worked out a way to recondition them using a new, better bearing....they are a Needle Roller bearing......but again, I don't know about the EF,EL steering columns.....I thought they had a hinge arrangement at the floor plate....??????

Yep, the bearing lives in that rubber grommet thing in the floor plate. EF/EL have a tapered square drive for the steering wheel, prior models had a tapered spline.
Maybe I'm thinking of an AU.....the hinged floor plate....?????

Wreckers have told me a story of have to be replaced, A guy here locally at john bates wheel alignments is confident he can do it, I had the exact same problem was lucky to have a spare column though.
