Hi guys, has the title states I've replaced all the lifters has I've had a bad ticking noise ever since owning this car, come to found 2 lifters were without shims and one shim backwards, so replaced all of them and fixed the shims (added 2 and slot facing up, 3 markings facing down),
now the problem I am having is I have the rocker gear all torqued down to 25nm but some of the rocker arms can be moved from the valve, is this right since I haven't run the engine yet or do these Nason Brand Lifters need 2 shims etc or something?, the ones that are compressed down on the valve spring cant be moved etc. note that this is on a stock ef Thanks.

if its a stock cam it will only need one shim for each lifter...
if the lifters are new they wont have any oil so they will not be tight against the valve untill they have pressurised.. |
