I'd swap the guts.

The EL has refined rear suspension geometry to 'do away' with the dad weight feel the EF has.

To place the EF diff into the EL, you'll need:
EF Upper arms and mounting plate for them (XR only)
EF Rear hand brake cables.
The EF Speedo driven gear (out of the gearbox) 2 minutes to remove.
Otherwise its a straight swap.

well im the Xr6 was manual and the clutch cable put a huge crack in the firewall worst iv ever seen so im taken the front struts as they have lowered springs and shocks same with rear, so guess i can just swap the whole backend over. would put the manual in to but EF and EL ecu are different and cant find a cheapish EL ecu

You dont need a manual ECU.

Do you want a EL manual ECU? I can stick one on the courier to you tomorrow if you give me some PAYPAL cash pronto. What is "cheap" to you?

Oh - Now I have read the thread I realise YOU DO NOT NEED A MANUAL EL ECU in the slightest as you are only changing diffs. If you are getting the manual gearbox too, then please contact me ASAP!
