I have been told I have recalibrate or reteach some things like the auto..and ofcause put the damn code back in the tapedeck.
What I want to know what other things will have have to reteach. if some one can post a link where I can find out all the things I need to do...and how to do them

???? jump start it or change the battery? all i know is depending how long the battery is out you need to re enter the code in the factory headunit. i had no other issues when i changed my battery.

Reset ECU

Battery back on and turn car to ON and press accelerator twice full down. (WOT - wide open throttle) whilst car in ON position with the key but not started.

Start the car and cycle through the gears for 30secs to a min with Air Con off, then do the same for Air Con on. Again prob overkill.

Will take upwards of a couple hundred kms to adjust to your style.
And if can do a few runs flooring it and also a nice long easy cruise as well.

Should fix her up nice and easy.

:D oh sweet as mate thank for that
you also said something about resetting the ECU ??
can you point me to a place that tell you how to do that
Sorry this is my first EF..I have always have had XY's to XE's

Resetting ECU is just a term.

Unplug battery for 15mins will suffice. Reconnect and then start the relearning process i metioned in previous post

Opps sorry
thanks again for you time :)

No probs

Anything like extractor installation, exhaust upgrades, air filter change, cold air intake install etc is always advised to do a reset of the ecu as otherwise can take the ECU longer to adjust to the changes as its a learning ECU and hence its 'used' to the old setups and needs time to adjust to the new.

Resetting it speeds up the process

As mentioned prior, radio code may be necessary.

oh great I am glad you told me about the exhaust I am putting a new on on along with a new set of front and rear crossed drilled rotors and pads and ball joints. So i can do the resetting after the exhaust goes on
Thanks mate you have been a big help
take care
