Hi guys,

Little help pease? I have an AU XR8 and there is a plastic manifold thingy on the passenger side of the firewall with 4 hoses attached to it. It was leaking slowly over the last few days, I just gave it a wiggle to see if the hose was loose and it sheared the barb off and dropped coolant over the LHS extractors! :eyeroll:

Can anyone please tell me what this is for, or what it is called so that I can start calling around looking for a replacement?

Is it easy to replace? the rest of the attaching hoses look fine.

It's a heater tap, controls coolant flow into the heater. About $46 at repco for one. I did one on my Xr8 recently.

Cheers

They are fiddly to play with especially when you have injected gas installed(what a bastard that was!!). Easy refit in your case - the original bits are probably soooo overdue for replacement also as the hot water degrades the s**t plastic they make them out of in China! I did the same and bought mine at Repco and with the RACQ discount came to $33. For that, I bought another one for the same price and keep it with the spares.

A cheap part that can ruin your day...

Excellent info, Thanks a lot!

I'll grab one tomorrow if I can find one in stock and throw it on.
