Just finishing repairing mine first. Because the mounting tabs on the back are all broken (i think they are the same as what holds the rear p/w switches in the trims?) i have to come up with another way to mount them.
I have an idea, which i think is good, but just not 100% sure it'll work. I only have to do this on my set, as all the new ones will be solid, and simply mounted by a small drilled hole and screw. watch this space.

or you could just use the 3M double tape whch is used to hold molds to the outside of the car...shouldnt fall off then lol

The problem is, that the inside of the spears is concave, it'd have to be pretty thick tape for it to work. Also, because the tape expands a little after being pressed on, there would be a gap, and would probably look funny.
Good thought though.

I've heard of people using scolastic etc.
Just a thought if you'd screw it on if it was solid, have you consider bogging it through then screwing it on? this is one of the reasons I want to get a hold of a couple more of the real wood ones to complete my set. or even mould a couple fold over tabs in, like what was used on the wood ones.

two of my woodgrain trims had broken tabs. i just cleaned up the dust from behind the spear and trim and put a dob of silastic at each end and taped it up for the night. next day removed tape and they sit firm as.

Thats a great idea. I will do this if i fail. My idea on mine is to place 4mm nuts at each of the clip points, and then fill the concave with fibreglass putty, which will hopefully hold to the inside of the plastic, and hold the nuts in place. Not sure though, but i do want to try it.

Interested to see how you go with this, I picked up a full set of ghia door panels but I wanted to keep my fairmont panels and just have the woodgrain from the ghia. So I will be using the silastic idea . . . I didnt have enough patience taking off the woodgrain panels and broke a few clips.

I'd be keen on set of these and then take into modicoat and have them woodgrain them and couple other parts in car as well

Hi guys, (didnt want to start another thread)
In regards to the plastic woodgrain if the clear has flaked/peeled off for e.g in a 5 cms section and you can see the colour is different because the clear is gone and see the plastic wood, i believe there is no stain involved just the clear covering the plastic wood which shines up and changes colour? What would be the best product/brand of ACRYLIC CLEAR or any other product to apply to touch up a damaged/flaked section? (this is actual damage) thanks
