ARGH!
Weeks ago the car started missing BADLY under load. Shuddered like a b**ch under load. Spent several $ chasing it. New plugs, new leads, new dizzy cap, new coil, checked fuel filter was ok, injector cleaner in the fuel too for stamps. After all this it seemed to stop for about a day SO I got back under the bonnet and discovered under the dizzy cap, the little rotor button had popped out and was smashed up. Luckily I had kept the old dizzy cap and so robbed the button from it. Fixed it up and it seemed fine. Fast forward a week or two, and again this morning the f**k starts missing under load What else can it be? I can only think of injectors being blocked? Any other sugestions? I'm desperate! |

AUX Shaft??? It might pay to remove the dizzy and have a look at the drive gear on the shaft...Other than that maybe TFI module?????

Hmmm...I've never had an issue with the aux shaft, but it's a good point. I'll pull it out and have a look.
Will a TFI fault be picked up in diagnostics? I haven't done a diag check in years. Need to check the Gregories. |

Use a good torch and a mirror - I'd leave this option last due to being a PITA (relatively) to do.the_scotsman wrote: Will a TFI fault be picked up in diagnostics? Got a fuel pump, again, state not known, spare TFI's too, same again.

When I get 3/4 of the way to work is when it usually kicks in. Guess this might point more strongly to heat/TFI. snap0964 wrote: Could be likely. LOL...why am I not surprised that you have some spare floating around Would you mind lending a spare TFI for me to swap out to help diagnose said fault? I'm leaning more towards this at the moment after doing more reading. |

the_scotsman wrote: LOL...why am I not surprised that you have some spare floating around Well I actually have them for the remote TFI mod - I think I still need to do another gutted one - so if yours is cactus if you don't mind I might use it.the_scotsman wrote: Would you mind lending a spare TFI for me to swap out to help diagnose said fault?
