Well it turns out this diff isn't much better than the last, seemed tight with the exception of some play in the left axle (only .5mm or so) I assumed it was acceptable/normal now everytime I take off I get a clunk for the first few seconds like the diffs stuffed, but from that left axle, and when rolling in drive at 3kmph or so it makes a constant ticking/clunking noise again from the left axle. I'm not sure whether this is definitely a stuffed diff or maybe just a wheel bearing? What do ya's reckon, Does this sound like a bearing/something in the left axle? Or is it time for me to go diff shopping yet again?
Compared to my old stuffed diff there's no play between left and right axles, the play is in the axle not the diff gears itself close to where the axle joins the diff housing (I can actually hear the movement/looseness there before it gets to the gears). |

Went over the car today scrutinizing every little thing. Found 2 issues the brakes are creaking (I'll figure it out tomorrow) and some play in the uni joint (what I originally thought was from the rear left axle/diff). It's not much movement but are they even meant to move? It would explain my clunk when taking off.
I took a video to explain it better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIV23z43j7Q&feature=plcp. |

Thats Uni's f**k.
Spend $25 and replace it. Clanking could be from the Cones if the diff is LSD. Do 5 minutes of reverse figure 8's and see if it disapears or reduces at all.
