Hi all, on my EL Falcon, the cruise control switch at the front of the master cylinder is leaking fluid out at an alarming rate, I assume because my extractors have cooked it. No fluid is leaking out of the back of the cylinder and it still works, so I assume the seals on the piston are good/at least not as bad as the leak from the switch. I just need to dodgy it up enough to get home.

I was thinking of taking the cruise control switch out, and putting a rubber plug in place to stop all fluid, then screwing the switch back in. Of course the cruise control won't work, but it will stop it spraying fluid all over my paint and engine bay. Sound feasible? Any reasons not to do this? Cheers, Benno.

its a pressure switch,the rubber may work.could snap the end off and weld it so its a plug until you get another one.

Thanks blokes. I have found a new on Ebay but I'm pretty broke at the moment, so I will plug it up with rubber/block the end of this one/put a bolt in there until I can afford it. My cruise control doesn't work at the moment anyway (steering wheel switch doesn't work) so it's no big loss. A bucket of water handy to wash the fluid off the paint. I'll have to sort out a heat shield for the extractors before I put a new one in or it will just do the same thing. Once again, cheers.

I just put a small screw in it that threaded in and blocked it off. Problem (kind of) solved. Thanks again guys.
