Hi,
I have a '97 EL Falcon, and last night I found that when I started my car again (after just having driven it), both the "Airbag" and "Check ABS" lights were on (and stayed on). I have tried disconnecting the battery for about an hour, and after having done some reading, tried to get diagnostic codes for each of them by grounding the appropriate pins in the diagnostic connector, but nothing happens with either lamp (ie, in each case the lamp just stays constantly lit). Is there some trick to getting the diagnostic codes? Any help would be appreciated. The documents I referred to are: Airbag - documents.php?d=3 ABS - documents.php?d=2 |

Likely if both are on, you have a circuit fuse out. Check all fuses by pulling them and refittting them.

Thanks for that. I had already checked the airbag fuse, and it was ok, but I checked all the others and found the reversing lamp fuse was blown. After changing it, everything is ok again. Not quite sure why the reversing lamp fuse affects the airbag and ABS lamps though...
