1.Blue Smoke = Oil = Valve Seals or Rings
2.Steam = Coolent = Head or Head Gasket
3.Black = Rich fuel ratio = o2 sensor,spark,air filter,regulator or injectors
4.White = Oil and Water = Head or Head Gasket

Is it on startup? you aure it isnt condensation in the exhaust system as per cold mornings?

+1

yea on start up smokes out the whole st, im sure its not condensation as it stays in the air ,smoke is white with a possible blue tinge i did the head gaskit to stop the smoking.. didnt work ,it probably smokes for 15 minets if you let it idle but it clears up if i drive for 5 mins, only on the first start of the day aswell not every time i start it

Depends how bad the rings are. When the motor is cold, the tollerances are wider, so you could be getting oil past the rings until things warm up and expand.

I know my rings are f**k, I can get blue/black smoke that can hide a car or two behind me if I hoof it while cold. Once things are warm, it doesnt burn the oil so much as it just runs rich.

rings are probably gone...............

is it as bad as this..this is a cold start with worn rings on my old engine after a new head was fitted.

this would clear up after 5 or 10 mins once it warmed up...
