Hello All,
This has probably been answered before but i cant find it. Am nearly finished a manual conversion on my 93 Eb. Have put an El t5 in. I need to know which wires go where from the box to the rectangular plug. There is no mention i can find of the speedo sensor. From the gearbox i have orange/red black/white white/red red/black white red black/green which at the end has red/blue joined to it with a separate spade terminal At the rectangular plug i have white black/green red white/purple red/blue red/black and another black/green which goes to the same spade Can someone tell me which wires to connect where? Your help would be greatly appreciated |

Rectangular plug on the EB loom:-
34 - red/blue - switched ground via inhibit switch 296 - white/violet reverse voltage feed 999 - white Speedo signal 140 - red/black - reverse switch 60 -black/green - ground (trans and speedo) 998 - red Speedo supply voltage Some of the The EL wire colours will match the same functions as used in the EB wiring:- 999 - white Speedo signal 60 -black/green - ground (trans and speedo) 998 - red Speedo supply voltage The black/green and red/blue are related to the inhibitor switch which is bypassed for manual. red/black - reverse switch white/red - reverse voltage feed The others..... black/white = 359 - Signal return ground for Neutral switch (pin 91 (pink/light green) on ECU) orange/red = 614 - Neutral detect switch (pin 64 on ECU). The neutral switch function will only be applicable for a manual ECU |

Only applicable to 60 pin ECUs .... Pin 30.
Grounded when in neutral. |

That's signal ground though - pin 46 from memory.

Yes, correct...my omission...
pin 30 is connected to pin 46 to indicate when in neutral. Pin 30 is the NDS input Pin 46 is signal ground |

Would i have to run the wires to the ecu or is there somewhere else i could tap into them?
The old auto plug maybe ? |

When I converted my car, I just used the square plug from the auto loom and plugged it straight into the car's loom. If you get the neutral and reverse switches and the speedo wires to the right pins on the auto loom you shouldn't have any problems.

Well that's the thing, the pinouts on the square plug vary with model - i.e. plug in an EF trans loom into the EB engine side, and wires don't match up, hence use Murray's info and match the colours too.

Grab a meter and check for pins 30 & 46 on that plug, then you can put your 6.8kohm resistor across them - idle then should be sorted. The pinouts on the round plugs are the same throughout the models.
