Hey guys, after a few year break from owning fords i'm now the owner of a au ii xr8. Just wondering if anyone knows if the front brake mounts are the same as a ba? reason i ask is, i have a set of 355mm discs and 4 piston calipers that used to be on my xr6t that id like to put on the au if possible. Any help would be great.

I can't confirm it but I'd say it would be worth a go if you have them there. Not sure about the 8's but my AUII XR6 accepted standard ba calipers and rotors (298?mm) and as far as I know the uprights on the ba's are the same for the standard/big brake options. Papa_Smurf should be able to confirm.
It's more drama with series one au's as I understand but still possible.

You would also need 18's minimum I think.

You can use the BA Brake setup but make sure you use the BA hoses also, use the BA bracket to hold the hose.
I did the BA brake upgrade to my AU1 and it required the replacing of lower control arms, stub axles and sway bar but well worth the time and trouble.

I've just replaced the discs and callipers on my AU2 with standard BA discs and callipers. Im not quite finished as I still have to bleed the lines but I'm concerned by the brake hose bracket. The ones on my AU appear to be spot welded onto the strut.
Do I need to remove some brake hose brackets from a pair of dead BA struts and weld them to my AU struts?
Thanks
Chris
