You are sadly very limited to what you can do with the brakes on the E series as there are next to no decent upgrades around.
What most people settle for is simply swapping out the stock rotors for slotted or slotted and drilled rotors (This is worth a read through) and decent pads. As for the calipers... unfortunately you're kinda stuck with what you have got. If you do replace your rotors, don't forget to do the wheel bearings at the same time.

the next step is a jump to the 330mm conversions by race brakes melbourne or race brakes sydney otherwise you need to be lucky enough to find the el gt set all involve 4 digit price tags but are a huge improvement over stock and also means 17" wheels to clear calipers.

sorry for sounding like a goose but this is the first ford ive owned.. dare i say on this i site.. i WAS a holden man until i got my license and experienced the luxury of fords power and torque along with its drive-ability.. never am i goin back to holden...... |

Your current tail shaft will be fine.
They are the same length between auto and manual in the E-series |

They are the same length between auto and manual in the E-series To add to that, the Fairlane and wagon tail shafts are slightly longer than the sedan ones due to them being a long wheel base. But other than that, you can use any tail shaft from EA - EL manual or auto without any issues.
