Yep. Alot of guys on the XR6T forums are using it in higher power cars without issue. I suppose time will tell for durability, but for the few years they've been using it they haven't commented on any problems.
Like I said, log into that forum and have a look. There's alot of info on the ZF's and servicing there. |

Transmax Z is good s**t, i just dumped a load of it in the T5, slippery as hell and nice and runny, sticks to everything, when i was soaking all the bearings and synchros in it, it kind of made this thick layer over them and was slippery as a s***. It's also got built in Lubrizol etc

It's the stuff ZF make specifically for the box, and is the only fluid that won't void the warranty. Only Ford/BMW (and a few other more exotic ones) dealers import the genuine stuff. The genuine stuff from ZF, is called ZF LifeGuardFluid6 Fill procedure Attachment:

Its the same trans as in some BMWs and Jags and I think you'll find they dont recommend it being serviced and class them as 'filled for life'.
And if you go to Castol's website, the 'netlube' section, any BMW, Jag or Falcon with the ZF trans it says 'refer to dealer' Nowhere does it say to use Transmax Z.

Its made by Shell, in Europe, and the colour is a light amber colour, but as you can see in the photo, it looks clear, thats how light it is.

I see the pics and know I should buy a steel sump kit etc but is there anymore info on how to fill in and with how much oil etc etc. As in does anyone have the full procedure for servicing the ZF? I won't be doing a Max Ellery manual after the one I got for my EA!
