Hi everyone. New here, recently bought a used Falcon Futura AU II 2001.
Been busy fixing up the rust spots this weekend, my first ever DIY attempt on a car...

Anyway, I only got one remote with this car and it's stuffed. Battery acid has destroyed it. The local Ford dealership quoted me $180 (NZ$) for a new one.
This was a cheap car, not keen on paying that much for the remote. The key works fine, remote would just be nice for convenience especially when it comes to opening the boot.

Anywhere to get a cheap one?

It's a 4-button 'N153' remote. I've tried looking around a bit, hard to find places that sell them. Had another place quote me $190.

Also there is a second Ford branded key on the key ring. No idea what is is for, guy who sold the car to me didn't even know (he sold it on behalf of a company, it was a company so I never met the guy who drove it).
Anyone have an idea? There's no key hole on the boot.

try ebay for a used remote..
the extra key could be a spare??? or if its a different/normal type key it could be for the glove box...

It's a different type of key. Glovebox doesn't have a lock, as far as I can see.

I'll look on Ebay. Already tried Trademe.

au does have a lock on the glove box..

Also found a couple remotes on Ebay so I'll try bidding and see if I can get them cheap there, thanks
