my xh ute is having problems going into gear and its just had a new clutch. has the clutch cable stretched or should i start looking for a new gearbox?

check your firewall. Check there are no cracks around where the cable goes through, what your describing is a common symptom of a cracked firewall. Could also be a stretched cable, but I would be checking the firewall, its free to look, its a PITA to fix though

OR also, check your pedal box, make sure there are no cracks in it, another common issue that present the same way as you are describing.

ok so it was just the cable stretched but i found that the fire wall was flexing and i dont want to take a welder to it because i want to keep it tidy can i do hydraulic in an xh and were do i find one to suit

mal woods does one i think. but its up close to a grand for it
