First of all I'll state the the vehicle is my cousins's VY SS ute...

Juat got a new centre bearing in the tail shaft, and upon picking it up from 'mechanic A' he said it required a tail shaft alignment. So my cousin called 'mechanic b', asking how much a tail shaft alignment was going to set him back. 'Mechanic b's response was that 'mechanic a' f**k up and if that's required you may as well get new tailshafts...

Vibration is smack on 40km/hr when being feed lightly/heavily. Also, but less consistently, when under power going around a tight corner...

What the hell is going on?

Any advice, or help would be appreciated.

Will it be an obvious visual thing?
I'll get under it tomorrow in the light and have a good look.

ok, i had an issue similar to this with my old vt xu6, but it did it all the time at certain speed. Turned out my tailshaft was out of balance and worn bushs. Made sense in my situation because i used to do alot of burnouts and treat it like s**t, no im not bragging about it just stating that it was abused. I'd be checking bush's first and in an extreme circumstance consider getting tailshaft balanced.

Obviously this is an extreme case, check everything is tight and looks proper before going to this measure.

Now that I'm finally awake, I'll head out and have a look at this tail shaft setup. See what I can find.
