Get yourself a ride in a DRAG car (preferably with someone EXPERIENCED driving) and get this NEED FOR SPEED out of your system until you can drive competently and have done a fully qualified advanced driver training course and then do a mechanic's course so you know how to fix all the things you are going to BREAK as you explode OFF THE ROAD

I have had a flex plate fail, tearing the centre out of it, and luckily shutting the engine down just in time, and the vibration that went through the car was shocking. Never had a tailshaft go, but do remember seeing the aftermath of a statesman that had the front uni go.....
Not something I would ever want to encounter.

Had a FRONT uni let go on the drag strip but was contained by the loop I made and just on launch even so it made a real mess of the heavy guage loop

i think cdsnis right about everything, speeding is an issue.. but i yet believe that country drivers are in my view alot better drivers than city people. i myself live in a country town, and having a scrub basher and rally driving around the farm helps. i also auggest on getting to know the limits of the vehicle you are driving is also an advantage. i dont consider some hoon getting in2 a v8 and driving for 3 weeks and pulling up next to me down the street saying "lets go for a drag". i look @ them and laugh thinking to myslef why should i bother?? because knowing if something did happen well, you would have to live with it for the rest of your life.

an ex-chaser ECU is about the easiest way. why you'd want to go past 180 an hour confuses me :?

i also pondered about this, i mean you hit the limiter once maybe twice but thats it why would you want to do it consistenly. in the end you will be busted sooner or later doesnt thos srt of speeds incur jail time or worse several years loss of license.

besides doesnt the limiter protect the auto from frying itself and also the steel tailshaft is that great at those speeds. correct me if im wrong
