I'm in the process of wiring up a set of rpm staging lights and need to connect one of the wires to the taco wire. I have removed the cluster and despite referring to the tech document, I cannot find the taco wire what so ever, I counted the pins and connected the wire to where the taco wire should be with no luck, where the taco wire should be according to the pin layout, is a yellow/green wire.

Vehicle is an EL XR6

Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

No tach wire on ef and el at dash

Tach is available at the diag connector however the cluster uses data from the ecu data stream

Any tips on how to access the tach wire via diag connector, I tried to unclog the plug like the b-series and territory's with no luck either

Unclog the pin????

I accessed it from under the dash. It can be pulled far enough 'seller ate from the harness to tap it. Can't remember the trace colors but used a quick connect first time to just tap the wire. Second time I took The time to solder. I needed it for LPG
