have an el 98, factory duel fuel by tickford, when cold (and not all the time), trans wont engage drive for somtimes up to 10 seconds after reversing,( out of driveways, parkspots etc..,), and going back to drive, very annoying!!!, 406,725km, owned by fai insuarance till 150k then 2persn privatly owned never raced, crashed, always fully serviced, i checkd the fluid level, ford say level should be( when filler plug removed) levl with bottom of filler hole(box is the sealed unit), all good ther so low oil wasnt the prblem, oil was black so i removed pan, oil was black not burnt or anything no metal on the magnet so i replaced the 4ltrs or so and trans felt like new for a day but the problems back and now im thinking of doing a full flush (removing the cooler pipe and flushing the 15-20ltrs thru), as we all know the oil aint cheap, so was just wondering what suggestions, comments, advice you ford fans have???

if the fluid was black when you removed the pan and just filled again, i bet that fluid is now as black as it was before.. it definatly needs a full flush...

flush it with the cheapest oil bud.
then use proper tq95 (multisyn??) or better trans fluid with the last 10L of flushing. theres no use wasting $$$$'s on oil if its just going to be for flushing. |

Bad idea. Use TQ95 to fill AND flush. BTr'S are very sensitive to needing the right fluid.

Incorrect fluid level = Waaaah High temp = Waaah Wrong fluid = MASSIVE Waaaaaah Too long between services = More Waaaah... You get the picture.
