Have an idea for decent intake system and want to see how long it would take to rip the idea to peices and tell me not to bother.
with the twin thermos in my car one of the fans is only getti'n half used (sticks out past engine near the snorkle.) would it be possible to just have a straight 4' heat shelded pipe from the throttle body to right infront of the fan? puttin some sort of filter in the tube. or ajust the snorkle to sit right infront of the fan. my thinking was that the thermo's being on all the time forcing the cold air inall the time (unlike SS induction Ram air intake when you get more when driving along) would this be a worth while thing or not? the old rule of more air = more power with less fuel?? (even it is more fuel, still good if get power!) Just throwin it out there. lost my licences this weekend while getting a quarter pannel window cause some little maggot broke in my car in broad daylight!! so i'm gonna have a while to do majority of the little mods that have been planned. cheers

The fan's purpose is to draw air through the radiator... the more air that is drawn through the radiator, the more heat is exhanged with the coolant and thus the more heat is drawn from the coolant... the fan's alignment with the engine is irrelevant...
This also means your engine would be breathing air which has just received heat energy from the engine coolant. Hot air is bad mmkay? IMO you'd be better off with the standard snorkel drawing in that nice, cool, dense air...
