The premium fuel 98 will get the most performance from it.
I reckon if you run the car on 95 it would be happy.
91 octane is pretty average these days.

Also try different servos, my car loves BP Ultimate 98, doesn't seem to run as good on Caltex 98 or Shell 98.

b series non turbo only came mapped for 91 & 95. my na bf ran the same on 95 as 98. That said I did run it on V-power for most its life.

bp Ultimate seems to be a great fuel in anything though if you can afford it.

Is mobil Synergy still around?

Personally I would not trust what's being sold at independent outlets. Stick with your regular servos for good petrol. Try running it in 95. Should go well. I run my T on 95 mostly. No problems.
