Picked it up this afternoon and have put a few K's on it and so far so good.
It was running a bit warm but in all fairness it was nearly 40 degrees out here today.
Will cruise around in it over the weekend once I sober up and see what the verdict is.

Mine was definatley the solenoids in the box.
Once they were done the car quite happily did another 20000kms of having the crap flogged out of it.

Ride: EB XR8, Now Blown 1977 Mini S

Location: Toowoomba

I had a similar issue with the EB xr8 and the auto guy caught some codes from the speedo sender. Replaced this and still had the issue of surging/hunting in gears then into limp mode. Replaced the selector switch and still had issues. I then suggested it looks like the box trans computer(above the pedals in the foot well). I pulled it myself and saw one of the pins was blackened out. I sourced a second hand one from a wrecker(amazed how many wreckers will not sell the BTR box module to you without buying the whole drive train!!)and installed it(what a bastard of a thing to get out!!) - problem solved!! Pulled the old module apart and found it had burnt out the circuitry to the extent it was suprising it ran at all! I will get some pics up of the offending pin/circuit card so you can all have a look and see if there are similar concerns.
