Hi i was wondering what ppls thoughts are on this subject.

I currently have a set of pioneer 6inch 3 ways in the back of my eL falcon, and the standard set of splits in the front (as standrad with a futura), i need more bass!!!!!!

I bought a 8 inch sub from jaycar(1OO w rms)(as it was cheap), which i mounted in a box which sounds ok, running off the head unit bridged(pioneer 6000 somehting, 50x4 watt rms).

However i want the rear fill, so i was wondering would it be better to run a set of 6x9s in the back for more bass, which will also make up for rear mid range and high fill, or leave the 6inch 3 ways in and buy an amp and run the 8inch in the box in the boot (this sounds ok, but no bassy)? or buy a ten inch sub and do the same thing? which would be better? I was also thinkijng of running the 8 inch in the parcel shelf (hole already nicely provided by ford).

Sales are on, and everything is cheap!

Any comments would be much appreciated!!!!!

Just wondering how much you brought the sub for from jaycar?

My opion is to keep the 6'' speakers and upgrade the sub to a bigger one and run a good amp off that.

Cheers, dyl

Yeah if you just want full on doof doof bass then go with the 6'9s as well as the 8inch sub. But for a much better sound keep the 6' speakers in the back and upgrade the sub go either a 10' or 12' and use a decent amp to power it.

You will have pleanty of bass with a setup like that. It also depends on finance too if you cant afford a new sub and amp then 6'9s are prolly the best option.

depends what type of music u like. leave your 6'' speakers in and buy a 10'' sub and amp if u like the dance/house music. 12'' for r'n'b i think. then u can buy urself a pair of splits for the front later on with a 4ch amp to amp back and front!

Stick with the 6" rear fill.

Buy a larger sub i would reccomenend 12" and an amp, even a small chepa one will do

Sub wise if your on a nudget then i have done a number of systems with the vennom ones and that works quite well

12" = $79 or less

Amp wise you should be able to get something for around $150 that will run it fine with around 150 - 200 rms

If you still want to spend less i have a coustic one that is about 130rms, very small, good condition and looking for $75.....

your not going to get the full potential out of your 6x9s if they are not mounted flush in the back parcel shelf, mounting flush means cutting so you may be better off with 6" speakers as Pyroay sais.

unless your old sub is damaged i wouldent get a new one the amp is adjusted to suit the sub.
