You can make a std cat into a hiflow one, that is still legal in emissions......cut the cones off and manufacture longer cones.....that way the gases get to expand further utilizing all the cat monolith surfaces then.

Isn't a standard cat 400cpi? I put a 100cpi on my EF with only an AU Tickford motor, no difference. It made the exhaust note a bit tinny sounding too. I'd say no unless your running a powerful engine.

Cool thanks man, tho I doubt the 2kw would be noticeable.
And you could gain that advancing the timing. Or it could be the difference from a cool dry day and and a warm humid one. |

Hey guys i have a 92 falcon ute that ive put a 1993 xr6 engine and manual box in. im in nz, so we dont need to have cats on our cars, so im guessing i would be better off to get a full exhaust system without a cat when i get my extractors? i want it to sound nice but not overly loud, would 2 high flow mufflers be alright?

The biggest difference/improvement you will notice with a full exhaust system is when towing something heavy. Like a boat or a large fully loaded trailer (750+Kg).
