Hi all,
I have a problem with my EF Futura, hopefully someone has come across the same problem and can steer me in the right direction. On acceleration, soft or hard, the motor stutters ,some times to the extent that it will backfire. This occurs 90% of the time, but only up to around 75kph. On the open highway from 75ph - 80kph it doesn't miss a beat. I have been told by various people a range of problems that are causing it, everything from Electrical failure..ie leads plugs etc .. to injectors or fuel pressure regulator. It has had a new fuel pump fitted in the last 12 months and a new inline filter. Whether I be right or wrong in my assumption that any of those would/should affect it no matter what the speed is I don't know. Hopefully someone can enlighten me. Thanks in advance Scanner |

My guess will be on Plugs or leads. Could be a blocked injector but try the leads and plugs first.

Sounds like spark brake down. I'd start with leads but pull youre plugs and check them

It could also be that the leads are on the wrong plugs. Double check the leads on the coil pack match up with the correct spark plug

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies, I'll check the leads and plugs and see if it solves the problem and report back one way or the other Cheers Scanner |
