Hi all the ef timing sensor( the thing where the dizzy would be) .can that be installed in any old way or dose it need to be a certain way. I've looked and can't find info

hello there,
there is a metal clamp/bracket that bolts to the flat of the block that has a groove/slot cut into it that the timing sensor lines up with, that should give you your correct timing.

ok . i took it out without lining up tdc or anything so would it be the case of don't move the cog when installing it and every thing be ok.

theoretically yes but the slightest movement of the driven cog on the timing sensor will advance/retard timing a few degrees

There is a small hole, 4mm, in the side of the cam sensor. Put a 4mm drill in there and rotate the shaft untill the drill goes all the way in. You can then install the sensor into the port. Ensure that the oil pump drive shaft is in properly and that No 1 cylinder is at TDC. It actually does not matter what position you locate the sensor as long as the motor is at TDC and the drill is inserted, but the locking plate only fits one way. Don't forget to remove the drill

so i will set tdc up when i finish doing head gasket ,lock in the hole on the sensor and install it and the timing should be right.

It is simple. With the pin located and engine at TDC there is no way you can miss. Cam sensor is non adjustable.
