Hey there,

my ef has started to run real rough and will not idle at a steady rev, it will idle up and down to as low as 1000 rpm, im just wondering what do you think will be the cause of that is ? im pretty sure its the intake manifold gasket, !!

If you could give me any advice and maybe where to get a intake manifold gasket, i would be greatly aprreciative !! Thnaks Jesse

How sure are you that the gasket is the problem? Are you guessing? or?

Intake gasket is a good call, but i would also look for PCV leak, all small plumbing items and also the brake booster.

Cleaning the Idle Speed Controller (top of intake manifold) can also help with 'hunters idle'.

Check the tech doco for 'common problems' and it has a step by step proceedure on how to clean the ISC.

Just replacing the Gasket is a medium job and may not solve your issue.

look at all other avenues first.

Does your car run on Gas?

sounds like ISC issue to me, does it happen when the engine is cold or warm?
