Hey, first of all. My car is running very rich. Smells terrible. Has a new fuel pump and filter, I was thinking o2 sensor but before I replace it is there any other possibilities or is oxy sensor most logical explanation.? Getting 300-350ks a tank half highway half city. Admittedly I'm a bit of a lead foot though.
Secondly I can get a 2.5 xorst for $70 will an ea one fit my au?

Oxy sensor sounds about right. Can you check the diagnostics on it?
Also an E-series exhaust won't fit an AU unfortunately, I'm pretty sure.

Faulty map sensor...or the vacuum hose has split or come off.

I'd check the map before anything, and I'd check it through a diagnostics as that's the only real way to be sure (you can do this yourself with an l.e.d. and 560ohm resister (cost like under a buck from jaycar)).
If you can't be bothered with the diagnostics there's not much you can do besides start throwing money at it. Before that though check the map sensor hose (you'll need to get under the car to check the manifold side as the hose can rupture and look fine from the engine bay angle), tighten inlet (and exhaust) manifold bolts, check fuel reg (suck on the vacuum hose and if you detect fuel in the air replace it) clean the isc and throttle body and check for vacuum leaks. |

There is no hose on an AU MAP sensor. The Sensor bolts directly to the intake manifold. They go basicaly where the Air Temp sensor screws in on an EF/EL. The AU MAP sensor is a combined Air Temp Sensor/MAP Sensor. Check the MAP sensor, it could be faulty or the Air Temp sensor part has failed and the ECU is registering this. This will cause High Fuel usage. Had the Air Temp sensor disconnected on the EL and was sucking fuel like crazy, reconnected the temp sensor and was great. |

Im not getting a check engine light so I presume the ecu hasn't picked it up? No idea but I'll try a map sensor when I can afford too >.> ( Tuesday)
