Just took my EL XR8 to the aircon fixer upperers and the high pressure side hose has sprung a leak. Bloke at the shop told me they are no longer available genuswine and they don't have much luck getting them made up. Can anyone help me with my problem of sourcing one? I live in Whyalla and it does get very hot here.

try searching the wreckers, or you could make one up yourself, it isnt that hard to bend some pipe.. you will need a small pipe bender of course. i used a brake line/fuel line bender to do mine.. it had interchangle dies. (talking about the alloy pipe) stand to be corrected.

It's the alloy rubber mix one. From TX valve to the drier at the front.

Just get one from a wreckers - a pick a part if you can, and try to get one off a system with gas still in it - be careful when you undo the connections, and bag the open ends.
You'll need one off a late EF or EL - the front fitting to the condenser differs with earlier EF.

That's what I was hoping I didn't have to do. Would prefer new. Only one wrecker here, no V8 EL's though. Is the 6 the same hose?

That's a good point - don't know, V8 compressor might be too far in different location.

I do know that the compressors are a different mounting.

Evaporator and condensor areas will be same obviously.
The compressor connector blocks look the same - V8 attaches horizontal, 6 cyl vertical.

Take a good look at your V8 setup and compare with a 6 at the wreckers.
