Don't know much about Diff's and before I put this 3.45 LSD into my falcon I want to put new clutches in it ( I think? )
Basically what i'm asking is, what do I need to replace to make sure both wheels spin for lots of fun. And where would I get the parts from? My dad can help me do all the work, he just wants me to source the parts I want replaced and I don't really know what Im doing / talking about when it comes to diff's. Thanks |

They have cones, not clutches like the ol' 9" diffs.
You could try genuine for parts....and replace the springs. They look like this basically..... http://thumbsnap.com/sc/d3tGdSnB.jpg

You'll get it working nicely for about a month and then it will be stuffed again. They are not a performance LSD and you will wear it real fast. |

if you want 2 wheel burnout fun, get a spool or a mechanical locker, i can vouch for the lsd not lasting long when abused, i had my ed one rebuilt atleast once every 2 years from high power and medium to high abuse...

When I say "some fun" I just mean I want both wheel to spin when I do deicde to have some fun on a corner every so often. I'm not interested in doing long burnouts or abusing the car, just a few wheel spins every so often, nothing that will damage the car.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to freshen up the LSD? I don't plan on abusing it. |
