hey i have and el xr6 that was converted to a manual since it has been converted i have had problems with my clutch pedal set up, i have to have the clutch cable adjusted all the way out otherwise the clutch want engage so that means my clutch pedal sits very high off the floor. also the pedal is very heavy and doesnt feel like other manul e series i have driven and i have snaped at least four clutch cables.
things that i have done to try and fix this probelem include putting in a brand new clutch;manual pedal box and new cable and new pedal springs
i have been told that it is probably a bent clutch fork but unsure??. i am pulling the gear box out soon anyway to replace it so i wanna fix this properly while im doing it.

anyone with any advice all has a solution to this please let me know
thanks

Check for a bent fork, worn fork at the pivot point, worn pivot point plate, worn 'shoulder bolt', worn or 'pulled' fork insulator bush....worn throw-out bearing slider housing ( input shaft bearing retainer)...they get grooves in them.
Was the flywheel ground before fittment of the new clutch ???

There is a difference between "grinding" and "machining" a flywheel.
Grinding is the go.....machining can jump over the hard spots.
