I removed the valve train cover for the 1st time on my ED. Thought I'd have a peek as I'm thinking to put a big cam in there.

The photo is probably useless, but the spring has a small inner coil, vertically flat which you can't really see.
Is that Ford standard or the previous owner already put heavy duty springs in there?

its std ea/el. they have a small dampener spring inside the main spring
