Okay, so recently i managed to beat my mates V6 utomatic VZ commodore in a 0-100 in my manual XG (won by about 5 centimeters) haha. As soon as we get over 100 the VZ leaves me for dead and i have no hope of winning (kind of expected the VZ to win) Now that i beat him to 100 my mate is sure that something is wrong with his car. Is it possible for a stock manual XG to beat a stock auto VZ to 100, or is their a problem with his car? I know its not a ford question but he refuses to believe such an old ute could beat his commy. Even I'm shocked that the XG could do it. I was sure he was going to flog me...

I think his is alloytech with the 190 kilowatt engine cos its an SV6... I just looked up the specs. He has 42 more kilowatts than me, but his power doesnt come until 6000rpm  I have 8nm more torque, and his is slightly heavier and his is automatic... maybe it is possible...

And what is the power to weight ratio? He will be alot heavier than you.

XG - 1525kg - 10.3kg/FwKw (148Kw Engine)

VZ - 1600kg - 8.4kg/FwKw (190Kw Engine)

Doesnt that mean he has better power to weight? Therefore he SHOULD accelerate faster?

it more than likely does, you having shorter gears and a better torque curve would be why you stayed with it for a while.

The Alloytechs need revs to get to where the power is.

Also no one talks about street racing here because everyone sounds like a tool when they do, also police are on this forum.

I learnt the hard way, take it to the strip, more fun and you cant get in trouble.

Clearly op ment this was on a private road. Otherwise he would have mentioned getting the jump on the red light etc..

Why is this surprising??? Those things have no torque. If you put in a mild cam + exhaust your 1994 would rape it
