I had my right side ball joints replaced and now the crunching noise has come back. my mechanic tells me the left side joints have gone but why is the noise still appearing to be from the right hand side?

You sure it's not the bushes on the right side? When does the crunching noise happen? Braking, acceleration, turning? Bumps in the road/speed humps?

Could be upper control arm bushes.

Cheers

mainly bumps in the road. It has now been confirmed that the LHS upper and lower ball joints are worn.

That's a bummer, but glad you know what it is. I just replaced all the ball joints & the tie rod ends in my Ghia, rides & handles so much better now.

Cheers

Hi TG
Was the ball joints. Had them fixed this morning $155.
Incredible difference now. Do I need to get a wheel alignment? Didn't get one after the right hand side joints were replaced, what is the expert advice please?

It's usually a good idea to get an alignment done when you have any front end work done, would be best to speak with the workshop & see what they say, do they think it will help with tyre life & how the car drives or not?

Cheers
