Trying to remove the power steering pump on my EL XR8. This may sound like a stupid question but how do I remove it? The mounting bolts are covered by the pulley so I'm guessing the pulley has to come off first? Next question if this is so, is once again HOW?

Yes the pulley needs to come off, you need to get a Puller that attatches to the centre hub of the power steering pump. They cost about $60 from memory.

Here we go, something like this: {DESCRIPTION}

Cheers for that, now I got to wait until the puller arrives.

Need to remove the bracket it is attached to and can't get to the last bolt which is sort of obstructed by the pulley.

So you don't actually want to replace the pump?
If so, undo the two bolts you can get at then, get the biggest, well fitting open ender you can get on the last bolt and swing off it along with swinging off the bracket in the same direction and, most times, you'll find it'll come loose. Then you can just undo it bit by bit until the bracket is off the engine.
